D-I-Yeovil winning project is announced

D-I-Yeovil is a really worthy project made possible from the combined efforts of The Western Gazette, Yeovil Round Table and Bradfords Building Supplies. In June, the public cast their votes, leading to five projects being chosen as finalists (see other entrants here) to be considered for the renovation worth £10,000, intended to benefit either a person or group in need.

Today (7th July), after careful deliberation by representatives from the Western Gazette and Yeovil Round Table, of which our Yeovil Partner Richard is a member, the winner was announced as Oaklea Care Home.

The team, led by Yeovil Round Table members, will carry out the work later this year with £5,000 worth of building supplies donated by Bradfords and volunteers’ time worth up to another £5,000 given for free to help renovate the garden at Oaklea on Preston Grove which is regularly visited by 15 people who have learning disabilities.
