Renewing WIBN’s Franchise

When the time came to renew our franchise contract we realised we needed specialist knowledge and support in our negotiations with the Franchisor. We were referred to Richard James a Partner in Solicitors Title by a colleague in our Network and placed a call to him. Immediately within our initial conversation we felt we were in the hands of not only an experienced and knowledgeable professional but also someone who was interested in the right outcome for us personally. Richard quickly established that we wished to negotiate with our Franchisor rather than be confrontational.

Richard then reviewed the somewhat verbose and certainly onerous contract and recommended certain changes to content and proposed changes to clauses within. Throughout the next few weeks Richard guided and supported us throughout our direct negotiations with the Franchisor. His support with our correspondence meant that our negotiations did not become lawyer to lawyer but remained between Franchisor and Franchisee. We did not necessarily achieve all that we desired but the result was a new contract with valuable concessions which removed certain constraints and gave us more flexibility and control of our operational and promotional procedures.

Richard has a razor sharp mind, a pragmatic and incisive approach to what can become extremely contentious issues. We would not hesitate in referring him to anyone seeking specialist knowledge in his chosen discipline of the law.
